Ever Green Recycling
Ever Green Recycling serves the recycling needs of residential customers through four Green Depots located at Cowan Avenue, Blackmarsh Road, Elizabeth Avenue and Torbay Road.
Green Depots are an important component of the province’s beverage container deposit-refund system. Provincial legislation requires consumers to pay a deposit of 8 cents when a non-alcoholic beverage (e,g. soft drinks) is purchased, and 20 cents where the beverage container contains alcoholic liquor. Consumers then deliver these used recyclable beverage containers, on which deposit has been paid, to one of Ever Green’s Green Depots, and we pay to the consumer the refund of 5 cents (for non-alcoholic), or 10 cents (for alcoholic) containers.

Ever Green Recycling handles over 32 million containers at our four depots, almost 25 percent of all containers recycled in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador, and this number is growing each year. As a result, Ever Green’s customers contribute, annually, these vital environmental savings:
- 1,400 metrics tonnes in Green House Gas Emissions saved
- 80 Million BTUs in energy usage saved
- 2,250 tons of natural resource usage saved
- 25,000 cubic yards landfill space saved
In addition to the deposit-refund beverage containers, Ever Green also accepts newsprint at Blackmarsh Road and Elizabeth Avenue, and beer bottles at all four Depot locations.
Customers can also purchase environmental products at our Depots, including Refill Cleaning Material, and Garbage Net Covers.
